BT-4-10 is designed to control the harmful effects of corrosion and scaling in boiler water systems. BT-4-10 contains an oxygen scavenger that chemically reacts with the oxygen in the water and prevents it from causing corrosion. BT-4-10 also maintains the water at an alkaline level, which neutralizes the acids that are formed inside the boiler by the carbon dioxide in the water. This product also aids in formation of a "soft sludge" that can be removed during blow down periods, unlike the hard rock-like formations that occur in untreated water.

BT-4-10 is intended for use in high water make-up systems and where chromate treatments are forbidden. This product increases the transfer efficiency of the boiler, and is USDA approved for use in food processing
